Neville: Fourteen years ago, a Death Eater named Bellatrix Lestrange used the Crutiatus Curse on my parents. She tortured them for information, but they never gave in. I’m quite proud to be their son. But I’m not sure I’m ready for everyone to know just yet.

Harry: We’re going to make them proud, Neville. That’s a promise.

“I’ve missed this.”

Hermione smiled, wrapping her arms a bit tighter around his neck to pull him closer. Of course, she had missed him too. She could barely sleep if she didn’t feel his weight next to her, that distinct smell of peppermint that was so Ron on her sheets and clothes. They’d only been apart for a few days, but it was enough for the smell to fade.

“Then don’t pick anymore fights with me, and you’ll never have to miss it again,” she said quietly, snuggling a bit closer to him, her nose nudging against his chest.

“I didn’t pick a fight!” Ron protested, pulling back a little to narrow his eyes at her. “You’re the one who brought up Lavender!”

“Only because I saw her at the Ministry that day! And that was a perfectly legitimate thing to fight about anyway. You actually dated her. You know for a fact that nothing ever happened between Harry and I,” Hermione said, turning in his lap to raise her eyebrows at him.

“All right fine, but you’re the one who left,” Ron said, pouting a little.

It was true, she had been the one to leave, shutting the door while he was mid sentence. She had gone to her parent’s house for the weekend, and it was the most miserable three days of her life. She was determined to not leave again, no matter how bad the bloody fight was.

She leaned up to press a kiss to his jaw. “Well, now we’ve both walked out on each other once,” she said softly.

Ron instantly pulled her close to his chest, his arms wrapping tightly around her. “We’re even,” he said, burying his face in her mane of hair and lightly kissing her neck. “And we’ll never do it again.”

Hermione smiled. “Right. Never again.”

Reasons Why Alan Rickman is Better Than the Oscars
↳ Seeing Harry for the first time

Without any words, Alan bring so much life and character to Severus Snape. When I first watched this scene as a young kid, I thought he stared at Harry that way just because he hated him. I also somehow thought he made Harry’s scar hurt. But looking back (and after reading The Prince’s Tale), I realize that with one little movement, a stare, that Severus is really thinking about Lily. He’s thinking about how he has her eyes, and all of the memories that come with it. And then with one tiny turn of the head, he’s looking at Quirrell. He’s realizing that Harry’s scar is hurting because of something around him. Quirrell. Harry thinks it’s Snape who’s making his scar hurt, but because of Snape’s little turn of the head, you can tell it’s not him. And I think the fact that Alan can convey so much with such little movements speaks a lot.
