The Daily Prophet could be the future of Muggle newspapers

It is truly amazing how the magical world of Harry Potter, created by author J.K. Rowling, keeps popping up in modern day science all over the world.

For example, scientists are getting closer and closer to developing an invisibility cloak;Kymera Wands are used as remote controls for television; genetics is being taughtusing the Harry Potter series as a reference source and study material. All around we see bits of the Harry Potter series become reality.

Today, we are showcasing how The Daily Prophet, which is seen in many of theHarry Potter films, might just show the way to how the future of newspapers around the world will be produced and distributed.

From a recent article: Interactive Newsprint is a new research project led by the School of Journalism Media and Communications (JoMeC) at UCLan, funded by the Digital Economy Programme. The new technology being developed will incorporate media content ranging from audio reporters to web polls or advertising by the reader touching various parts of the paper itself. The circuitry will be embedded into the paper itself to create an entirely new method of communicating with readers via printed newspapers.

Is this going to far? Are newspapers becomming a thing of the past with the advances in news coverage on the Internet? Or could this technology save the print newspaper companies around the world? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Neville: Fourteen years ago, a Death Eater named Bellatrix Lestrange used the Crutiatus Curse on my parents. She tortured them for information, but they never gave in. I’m quite proud to be their son. But I’m not sure I’m ready for everyone to know just yet.

Harry: We’re going to make them proud, Neville. That’s a promise.
