Inspired by the fact that Severus Snape is an anagram for “persues Evans,” I just realized that Evans is almost Snape backwards. The only thing keeping Evans from being Snape backwards is the V and the P. The only things that kept Lily Evans from being with Severus Snape (because J.K. Rowling said she would have grown to love Snape had he not been interested in the Dark Arts) is Voldemort. Lily also then married James Potter, so even if she ever forgave Snape and fell for him, James is also keeping them from being together. V and P. Voldemort and Potter.

edit: i didn’t come up with the “persues Evans” thing. but even if it is spelled wrong, it’s still pretty cool.
